About me
I am a state-accredited secondary teacher from Germany, qualified to teach Business and Economics as well as English. In July 2026 I completed my teacher training with the Second State Examination for senior secondary and vocational schools.
I trained at a large vocational and senior secondary college in Bietigheim-Bissingen, where I taught English and Business for eighteen months, twelve of them with full responsibility for my own classes. Before that I worked in education research at the University of Mannheim, coordinated education projects for the Central Council of Jews in Germany and spent two years as a learning coach for university students.
German is my first language, and I hold an additional qualification in teaching German as a foreign and second language. I have been living in Queensland since August 2026.

Teaching approach
Good lessons combine clear structure with high expectations for every student. These principles guide my teaching.
Structure and routines
Transparent goals, clear expectations and consistent routines give students orientation, keep the focus on learning and help to prevent disruption.
Differentiation
I adapt task design, grouping and scaffolding to individual learning needs, supported by differentiation tools I have developed myself.
Assessment for learning
I design assessment tasks that are closely aligned with the competencies taught and use the results to give students concrete feedback and to refine my teaching.
Language-sensitive teaching
My training in German as a foreign and second language shapes how I scaffold reading, writing and subject vocabulary, in language lessons and in Business alike.
Diverse learners
I have taught mixed-ability groups from university-entrance classes to vocational programs and intensive language classes for newly arrived students.
Digital tools with a purpose
I use Microsoft Teams, iPads, interactive whiteboards, Fobizz, ToTeach, Classroom Screen, Mentimeter and Kahoot where they support learning and participation.

Qualifications
In Germany, teachers qualify through a university degree followed by the Referendariat, an 18-month salaried and state-supervised induction at a school, which concludes with the Second State Examination. German grades range from 1.0 (best) to 4.0 (pass).

Research
Sustainability in Social Media: An Examination of the Forms Used to Express Sustainability Awareness
Master’s thesis, University of Mannheim, 2023
The thesis analyses 1,090 Instagram comments on three widely discussed sustainability topics. Users showed clear interest in acting sustainably but low sustainability awareness and low self-efficacy, and their arguments were mostly emotional and rhetorical. The thesis recommends stronger education for sustainable development and media literacy in schools and universities, and participatory formats that build self-efficacy.
